What is Travel Tuesday?

We’re all pretty familiar with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the best times of the year to splurge a little and finally buy those items that have been sleeping for months on your wish lisht or in your shopping cart. But did you know that right after these worldwide events, there’s one that may go unnoticed, although it’s just as important, if not more so, for travel enthusiasts. It is, of course, Travel Tuesday!
This holiday shopping day brings together all the deals on flights, accomodation and cruises! With some airline companies even participating, it’s a chance to take advantage of offers not usually available! Not to mention the attractive offers from online travel providers!
When is Travel Tuesday?
This year, it will take place on December 3, right after Cyber Monday, but you should bear in mind to check out your favorite travel agencies and their discounts in advance. Don’t wait until Tuesday, as most of the companies participating in this shopping event offer their bargains several days before the date!
That’s why I recommend signing up for alerts on destinations and dates that interest you, because as with all the cheap discounts you’ll come across, these tend to sell out very quickly. So as soon as you see prices that are a little too good to be true, jump on them and don’t look back!
The beginning of Travel Tuesday

I don’t know about you, but I didn’t even know Travel Tuesday was a thing until maybe two years ago and it’s not that weird, especially when you consider that it was launched in 2017 by Hopper who realized how profitable Black Friday and Cyber Monday were.
Seeing how popular these events were and how people were enjoying the various discounts, why not offer travel deals too? And what a great idea, because why do you think travel has become so trendy over the years? Because it’s a way of experiencing new cultures, making memories that will last a lifetime…? Not only that, but it’s also part of life for many of us, because travel is synonymous with discovery, escape from the daily worries and relaxation.
For me, traveling is a way of clearing my mind while getting out of my comfort zone and broadening my horizons! So I know I can’t live without it, simply because it’s an integral part of who I am!
Tips for making the most of Travel Tuesday
1. Keep a note/alert on your calendar

I know I’m the kind of girl who forgets things easily and that’s why I tend to set alerts on my phone for, well, pretty much everything, so whether you’re like me or not, do yourself a favor and set an alert at least a few days before to remember the date!
2. Sign up for price alerts
Just as you don’t want to forget the date of Travel Tuesday, consider creating price alerts for the destinations and periods you’re planning to go on a vacation. That way, if there’s a price change, you’ll be the first to know and can book right away if there’s a good deal.
3. Compare
Don’t just focus on online travel providers, but check airline offers too, as you might get lucky and find a surprisingly nice discount.
But don’t forget to check accomodation or car rental prices as well, because you wouldn’t want to spend the money saved on your flight there.
4. Read carefully
Before you consider buying the amazing discount you’ve just found, it’s probably best to verify all the fine prints and what’s actually included in the deal: checked baggage, cancellation policy…
A deal is only a good deal if there are no hidden fees that will end up adding to the cost of the bill! So, as with in any contract and any purchase, read carefully before embarking on your adventure!
5. Be flexible
If you’re not set on a specific destination or dates, think about traveling off-season, and prefer non-touristy places where you’ll get even better deals! Plus, some offers only apply to certain dates, so if you don’t have a plan, it’ll be easier to take advantage of the opportunity!
So, are you ready to enjoy your vacation at an even lower price than usual? Then, remember to save the date!
And if you want to save money abroad, here are a few tips!

Thank you so much for letting me in on these trade secrets! It’s been 2 years now since I’ve seen my family in Georgia, but I am planning on flying down next year from Alaska. The cost of flying that far with my family of 6 is one of the big reasons we don’t get to go very often. I will set my calendar for December 3rd to see if I can score a good deal for our travels. Hopefully I’ll be able to visit more often.
I hope you’ll be lucky and get some great deals so you can finally visit your family over the vacations. Thanks for reading, Desiree!
